Does anybody know if the ACard PCI IDE cards 6880 (for PC) and 6880M are
essentially the same card? Have found an easy to get to source for the
former, but the latter is pretty hard to find where I am. Is it just a
matter of a firmware flash or is there more involved and the 6880 unusable
in the Mac?
Cheers, Pete.
Hi Pete! , Jeff W is likely the best man for answering this but since he hasn't yet at least. I'll give it a try.
It seems the way to convert them involves buying new firmware chips programing them with the Mac firmware and then replacing the firmware chip. This involves soldiering which is beyond my ability. Jeff is the expert on this but for most people would be more trouble then it's worth. Will S
