Feeling somewhat curious I went to the Acard site for a sticky-beak:

http://www.acard.com/eng/product/adapter/mac/ide/aec-6880m.html

http://www.acard.com/eng/product/adapter/pc/ide/aec-6880.html

The pictures of these cards sure look very similar but I can see the Mac version
has a little double DIP switch which I think is for manually enable the RAID
function.

Discrepencies also exist between the Mac and PC versions of other cards such as
the 4-channel RAID:

http://www.acard.com/eng/product/adapter/mac/ide/aec-6885ms.html

http://www.acard.com/eng/product/adapter/pc/ide/aec-6885s.html

but the plain 2-channel cards seem to be the same:

http://www.acard.com/eng/product/adapter/mac/ide/aec-6280m.html

http://www.acard.com/eng/product/adapter/pc/ide/aec-6280.html

It would all make sense if the photographs are the actual cards described though.

Still hoping to find one that is Mac compatible, but not terribly keen on the idea
of having to pay the premium for having "Mac compatible" printed on the box!

All the best,

Sam.
