Wow - I could actually enter the modern world and use 9? Then what has been the hardware and system differences other than speed increase from our J700s to the G4? Do they all read the same binary code? I assumed that the G4 processor read a different code, and that it translated older code thru an emulator arrangement in order to accomodate sys 9. It'd be nice to actually clear up some of these technical issues. Is there a site that clearly explains the progressive changes from classic old Mac hardware up thru OSX? Anyways, thanks again - I appreciate the knowledge - It will allow me to do the install knowing at least that the processor and the hardware are accessable to the 8.6 system, let alone 9.x. That gives me even bolder ideas! ;-) So that means that when some of you folks upgrade to G3 or G4 plugin boards, you're just gaining speed, in order to more efficiently run the newer systems and software? That would certainly explain a few things. Again, thanks! cj -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
