Well, I'll be darned.
I turned off the network time server feature in Date & Time long time ago when I
was still on modem connection.

Just turned it back on and it set the time immediately, moving it back three
minutes in sync with the atomic wall clock, or pretty close to it.
(I now have DSL.)

Not sure how this works but it is pretty nifty.
My DSL connection is on full time, so as long as the modem/router are powered up
this feature is functional ?

The reason I turned it off during my modem days was because I would get the error
message about the network server connection not being available.

I am running 9.1.
