I tried what you said to do and it looked promising at first. The control
strip came back with the CDstrip icon in place after dumping the preferences. But
when I clicked on it, the same odd things happened. I tried every combination
trading with my old system folder to no avail. I took the CDSrtip out to my
Hard drive.
Anyway, here is what I have in the Control Strip Modules folder,
Apple Talk Switch, CDStrip, File Sharing Strip. Monitor BitDepth, Monitor
Resolution, Printer Selector, Sound Volume, SoundSourceStrip, Video Mirroring,
Location Manager, Quick Time Strip.
Arnie,
The items in your Control Strip assortment look ok.
I need my memory jogged... it has been a long day for me.
What OS are you running now that your have upgraded? And, are you using something like FWB's CD ROM Toolkit to control your CD drive. CD-ROM toolkit originally shipped with the c600 and OS 7.6 because Apple's CD control software did not work with the UMAC CD-ROM.
That "might" be the problem. If you have the Apple CD Control Strip Module active. You might need the FWB one instead.
Hey! anybody else, feel free to jump in here. We replaced our UMAX CD with an Apple ROMed one a couple of years ago, and well, I sort of forget stuff.
