Several week lurker here with a question about a Umax S900 (Marathon
RackMac). With the help of this group and reading Xpostfacto pages, I now
have a G4 / 450 Sonnet running 10.3.3.

Now the question: This version only has a single output jack for sound
output (I believe the real Umax S900 has two, both one on the front and one
on the rear?).

When a stereo headset or a set of powered speakers are hooked up to the rear
port of this Marathon I am only getting one channel (left channel). What I
have noticed tho, is that this S900 mainboard has another set of pins (for
Audio, Speaker, Pwr LED, Reset Switch). The odd part is the Audio pins (a
bank of 5 I believe) has a jumper module in that pins 1 and 3 are connected
(shorted).

First, does anyone have a Marathon S900 to help me understand what / if any
purpose this other set of pins is for, and why the pin 1 and 3 may be
shorted. My first thought is this is for the Umax S900 front panel, but why
short two of the pins?

Are there any issues with Stereo sound on the Umax S900? (it does not appear
to work in OS 9.1 either)....

Thanks so much!!
Rob
