Hi,
I have just upgraded my S900 with a 400Mhz sonnet crescendo PCI card.
Is this a viable proposition for running OS X ?
All of the literature says your system can do 10 on a G3/400.
I know I'd need a sonnet download but has anyone had any success in this direction ?
Try Xpostfacto from Macsales.com... lots of success on the list with this & it's free!
What versions of OS X do and don't run, or do they all ?
10.1 and 10.2 work with SCSI drives....10.3 does not.
On another matter do the upgrades to 700 and 800 Mhz really deliver
any substantial increase in speed ?
I went from a G3/400 to a G4/700... OS 8.6 was faster. Then I went to 9.1 then 9.2. It really flies now.
I'm just wondering aloud ready for the day when they appear on ebay at a price I can afford.

Back up everything then try it... keep notes for us.
I think you can do it.
