There are enough folks out there who rave about their LCD screens, and many are using color calibrators and reporting good results.
But LCD screens, I think, will start dimming gradually from Day-1, and there are PowerBook and i-Book folks who are tinkering with replacing the illuminator bulbs instead of the expensive wholesale swapping of the screen.
I have a 15.5 pb/G4 Ti-book and the screen is absolutely beautiful with good white and black. I've been doing some photo-restoration on it and the printed results are pro.
Just make sure to pay attention to the LCD monitor connectors if you don't want to buy a DVI to VGA transition, if there is such a thing.
And also look into the practicality of operating a LCD in analog mode, which I haven't looked into with enough detail.
Does anyone know if there is such a thing as DVI to VGA connectors? I guess that's something that I hadn't paid enough attention to somewhere, made me ask about our machines and flat screen monitors. If they are connectable to the S900 is there some kind of loss or problem? If the cheaper ones are plug and play, that might be the solution. With color correction I don't really need the accuracy that a lot of $$$ partially buys, because I do the cc by the numbers.
