I'll probably have to replace the monitor and I would like to use an LCD (flat screen) monitor. Is it possible with software and or converters to get one working on our old machines? I have an ATI Radion 32 meg video card installed. Thanks for your help.

I did a fair amount of research on LCD monitors a while back. My Apple 17 in Studio Display CTR had just died. I went to Fry's and spent some time checking out the dozens of screens on display. I ended up buying a used replacement on the Craigs list. I didn't buy a LCD as I felt they were too expensive at the time. Also as pointed out here most of the affordable LCD are Analog with VGA out cables. The Digital DVI LCD are much clearer & sharper and have DVI out cables. They are also more costly. Some have both VGA & DVI out. It isn't always clearly marked if the screens are vga or DVI out.
Most any LCD with vga cable should work with most any S900 with vga plug. The Radeon 7000 and 9200 Video cards have both DVI & vga plugs on the card. So with one of those video cards the digital LCD (DVI) should also be plug and play. Both Mac Cards 7000 & 9200 come with DVI to VGA adapter so you can run two vga monitors or 1 of each vga & DVI.
newegg.com sells VGA to DVI and DVI to VGA adapters in the $5.00 to $8.00 range.
