I tried to install SeaMonkey (SM) from mozilla.org, but am having
problems getting my plugins and Adblock Plus v1.0.1 (from apt-get
command; works fine in IceWeasel, but not showing up in SM).
Concerning plugins: Locate IceWeasel's plugins directory (e.g. find /usr
-type d -name plugins) and copy its contents preserving symlinks (e.g.
cp -p /usr/share/iceweasel/plugins/* /path/to/seamonkey/plugins).
$ ls -all /usr/share/iceweasel/plugins/

I did the same for IceApe's old plugins, and that worked. So now it

Concerning Adblock Plus: I wonder where you got v1.0.1 from. Lenny
contains v0.7.5.5 (cf. <http://packages.debian.org/lenny/adblock-plus>).
Anyway, that package won't help you installing the extension in the
original SeaMonkey. Simply install it from
<https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/1865>.
Whoops, I meant unstable (always get confused with the codenames):

Is it me or I cannot find SM's icon in the installed directory?
seamonkey-installer's README said:
To hook up SeaMonkey complete with icon to the GNOME Panel, follow these
steps:
1. Click the GNOME Main Menu button, open the Panel menu, and then open
the Add to Panel submenu and choose Launcher.
2. Right-click the icon for SeaMonkey on the Panel and enter the
following command:
directory_name./seamonkey
where directory_name is the name of the directory you downloaded
SeaMonkey to. For example, the default directory that SeaMonkey suggests
is /usr/local/seamonkey.
3. Type in a name for the icon, and type in a comment if you wish.
4. Click the icon button and type in the following as the icon's location:
directory_name/icons/mozicon50.xpm
where directory name is the directory where you installed SeaMonkey. For
example, the default directory is /usr/local/seamonkey/icons/mozicon50.xpm.
