This must be something new. I've downloaded and installed Adobe software for years without spoofing Firefox or thinking that I had to. In fact, the first time I ever pretended to have Firefox was when the program itself started lying with version 2.4.

This covers both the free stuff -- Acrobat Reader, Flash Player, Shockwave -- and the paid program Adobe Acrobat v. 8 ff.
