Are you aware that you can set up SM to export a .html version of your 
bookmarks file each time you exit SM aren't you??

In about:config, if you are o.k. with the warning, enter export on the Search line and 
you should find "browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML" and set it to TRUE.

No I wasn't aware of that.

What does the TRUE setting do? Does it replace the places.sqlite file with the 
old bookmarks.html?
