The first one imports bookmarks only from *.htm files; the second one

I'll try the Firefox sync method first; appreciate the cautions and
other suggestions from this NG . . . .
Are you aware that you can set up SM to export a .html version of your
bookmarks file each time you exit SM aren't you??
In about:config, if you are o.k. with the warning, enter export on the
Search line and you should find "browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML" and
set it to TRUE.
No I wasn't aware of that.
What does the TRUE setting do? Does it replace the places.sqlite file
with the old bookmarks.html?
It does what Daniel says it does: "export a[n] .html version of your bookmarks file
each time you exit SM."
Sounds pretty straightforward to me. "Export" is not the same as "replace" or
"overwrite."
I figured out where a new bookmarks.html file gets exported to, but the file
comes up empty. Does anyone know if there's something else I need to do to
trigger this export?
