I am running SM 2.26.1 did not bother installing the previous for all
the problems everyone else was having. I am considering upgrading to
version SM 2.30, looking for pros and cons, should I do it of should I
hold off for awhile?
I thought it better to get it. The security is up to date. There is
still a problem with bookmark backups not being restorable, but you can
export bookmarks as HTML to save them that way, and those can be
imported.
But that loses settings like histories in places.sqlite file which
happened to me with v2.29. :(
Are you saying that restoring bookmarks by importing HTML bookmarks
destroys history? Surely the history and bookmarks are separate, even
though they are both in places.sqlite?
I don't know about that part. My issue was v2.29's places.sqlite's
histories got corrupted. I had to export and import my bookmarks.html
after exiting SM, downgrading back to v2.26.1, and deleting
places.sqlite to start clean. :(
