Presumably you double clicked on ebase.exe. Several possibilities. One, try
again after rebooting. Two, try reinstalling ebase. Three, your system is
damaged and may need to be reinstalled.

This is a windows peculiarity of not showing the extensions. Bring up
MyComputer and click on Tools (Win2K) or Views (Win98) and bring up the
Folder Options then on the View tab. Here you can set more reasonable
options, e.g. do not hide file extensions.
