The trial version of FileMaker would not help. It has too many restrictions.

It sounds like your system code is damaged in some obcure way or you are
doing something you have not told us about.

The printer drivers issue applies to exactly one HP printer (not yours) and
then only if you try to print.

What other programs are on your system and more importantly what others have
been installed and removed. Significant add/remove activity almost always
eventually results in a damaged system.
