I would say that the quickest way to transfer the files is to network the computers together. I don't know whether this is practical for you, and I can't begin to tell you how to do it or whether it would accomplish your goal without being a lot of hassle. But, in case you have someone who knows a lot about networks to help you, you might want to consider it. Otherwise I'd say forget that method. Using removable disks would be a fairly easy way to do it. If your files aren't too large you can just use 3.5 inch diskettes which hold 1.44 MB each. If your files are too large for that, use Zip disks. Zip drives work on both platforms, and if you get a drive with USB connection (make sure both of your computers have USB ports), it easy to plug into your computer. There is a program called WinZip for MS-Windows that I have found to be a pleasure to use. It supports many different formats for archiving and (de)compression. For MacOS I use a program called DropStuff. I don't know whether WinZip will uncompress files compressed by DropStuff. -- Greg Reagle of the National Campaign for a Peace Tax Fund (NCPTF) http://www.peacetax.com/; 888-PEACE-TAX (888-732-2382); 202-483-3751 The NCPTF is a member-supported non-profit lobbying organization dedicated to passing the Peace Tax Fund Bill in order to enable conscientious objectors to pay their full federal income taxes without funding the military. ------------------ Reminder to each recipient: To change your list account preferences, go to http://email.sparklist.com/scripts/lyris.pl?enter=support and enter the email address you used to subscribe to the ebase support list:: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- ebase - Relationship Management for Nonprofits, http://www.ebase.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------
