I never managed to get a hold of any EGA monitor for a portable AT that had
an EGA card but CGA plasma screen. But it was more fun (and certainly
cheaper) to connect the computer to the TV instead with some connector
someone found at my dads work (AFAIK he was the only one that even had a
portable at that moment so I can't understand why they had one in the first
place).
Speking of that, in his "new" (latest is perhaps a better word) laptop both
batteries have died away (quite some time ago) and the use for the computer
is now very small since he can just as well use one of the stationary
computers here at home. Now where would I get a hold off batteries for a
"Compaq Contura Aero 4/33C" ? Compaq part number for the battery is 190540-002
I've tried http://www.compaq.com/ but didn't manage to find anything
usefull (more than the fact that the batteries should not work after this
time). If I could get some cheap
batteries (or batteries at all for that matter) I might be able to buy the
computer from my dads work (he never uses it anyway) - but then I would
need to be able to get the stupid machine to boot from floppy
(PCMCIA/PCCard type) is that possible?
