A few weeks ago my CMOS battery died on me. After doing some
looking around my brother and I just took a few AA batteries, used
some old speaker wire to connect them in parallel, and lots of tape to
hold it all together and just spliced it into the battery connection.
Works fine. If you could find the voltage required you could
probably splice something together (with something more robust
than some AAs I'd hope). Maybe a rechargeable camcorder batter
or something. Just make sure you know what your doing (I'm
thinking I should have put in a resistor of some kind on mine, seeing
as I only needed 3.6volts but 3 AAs in parallel give (3*1.5) 4.5 volts,
oh well).
