Really? It took me a few days to get the basics (and remember that I was
only 6 at the time so sitting indoors infornt of a computer wasn't very
fun). But then I did have a very good book that helped me all along. I
still have it around, but I never use it these days ;-)

Yes, most of the documentation is hard to understand if you don't
understand Linux basics (and perhaps some C basics). Programmers really
doesn't like to document things. That's the easiest way to see who will
become programmers after a programming course. Those who complain about
documentation will become programmers while does who doesn't care will not.
