Ah, but since *everyone* (not entirely true, but almost) here can rent
brand new state-of-the-art computers for almost "nothing" (from a little
less than 40 USD a month and up, including Internet) through their work
and/or union I doubt there's any actuall need for it. The latest thing I
heard was that everyone should get a CD-R with the more expensive computer
(which most people chooses anyway). One guy at work was upset that his
wife/girlfriend (I don't know him that good) had choosen to get a computer
this way. He felt that since he could get a hold of all these nice 486's
(all older have gone several years ago, I would expect (many - like
hundreds or even thousands, some have already come) Pentiums comming in
sometimes the next year) easily she should be happy with them.
Heck I even tried to get my sister to accept a 386 or 486 today, but she
wasn't interested. Claimed she couldn't fit it in her room. And besides she
has access to a P120 almost whenever she wants anyway. But she did want me
to reserve one for her when she moves out (only trouble with that is the
lack of HDs I've been experiencing). My room looks rediculous this way (and
if I could borrow a video camera I could let you see by taking a snapshot,
there's one at work but I doubt anyone knows were it is after the move).
