It's not a math rule. It's how the system *works*. Just like the day
begins at midnight - 12 o'clock. In the 24-hour format that's zero, but you
don't refer to 0 o'clock unless you want to look like an idiot.

Get this. People Are Stupid. People have therefore decided, through
arrogance, that their mistaken beliefs are correct, and refuse to accept
that they're wrong. Now I've no quarrel with those who use the fact that
we've got three zeroes in the year as an excuse for a wild party, but those
who then stick to this belief when the vast majority of others know
otherwise are another matter. Sure, no-one actually cares about it, but
that's no excuse for being wrong.
