The 90's are over, because we already had 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96,
97, 98, 99, 10 years in all. The 20th century however is in its last
year. It is because of this....the "90's" denotes years (9 X 10) + x
(0>=x<=9) whole numbers of course :-) . However the 21st century means
the century right after the 20th :-) It doesn't really have anything to
do with the century itself, because you can have your 21st orange or
apple too. The arguement over if it's the 20th or 21st, boils down to
an arguement of the boundary between the two. The 20 instead of the 19
confuses people, However. I could write down my 21st 20, but that
doesn't make it a 21, it's still a 20.....I still have 21 20's on my
paper...err I mean on computer screen.
I believe most people believe this to be the 21st century because of the
media and commercial hype, thats all :-) I even saw Y2K candy at the
gas station!!
