i used to have, probably still do somewhere a copy of spinwrite.  it was
indeed a great tool.  i honestly thought it was long since gone, as i never
hear about it any more.  likely, the last DOS edition is dated, but may be a
f reebie by now.

if i recall correctly, it was spinrite that made my first computer, 8088 fit
to be sold again
