hi everyone!
well i did not want to fail to report something. truth be told i have been
too chicken to try it. i have a plan however, and want to share it.
rather than usingmsbackup <requires too many discs> i am going to use
pkzip. i have been given a way to do this that works much like backup.
once done, i am going to make sure the utility suggested for sector
translation is handy, where may i find it again? and reformat the drive. I
already have a bootable disc with my current autoexec.bat and config.sys,
and a copy of my speech program on a disk. and of course zip. now for the
one sticky part.
or perhaps two. I may have to do this on my own, without sight assistance,
so its important. do i need to install all of dos before doing anything
else? once i boot from the flopy, will i be able to just install the
speech, and do everything after that?
also, while the person who installed this drive did tell me that the utility
was in place, i am going to install it to be certain. will this be a hidden
file? installing itself or something else? if it needs imput from me, i wll
need to memorize the process before starting. not a hard task, but i want
to know before i try this.
thanks for all your support
