I see these people everywhere. They have various jobs, mostly "pencil
pushers" but now instead of a pencil they push keys on a keyboard. They
don't have time to relax, let alone learn computing, but they are forced to
use the computer by the advance of technology, the insistence of their
company, the media needs of their business. Back when you had to actually
think and learn to operate a computer, they chose not to. They continued
to use their typewriters, pencils and secretaries. They've already gone to
school to learn their trades, then taken courses to learn their
applications and dammit just wanna get their work done. They are
intimdated by these expensive machines that behave so unpredictably and at
times automatically. this is what "user friendly" is all about, and it is
why software such as people here complain about exists. Perhaps when the
computer babies grow up and take over this will change, but like all new
technology, it's new, frightening, and difficult to change. keep
educating, but cut the poor cattle some slack, will ya? They just wanna
make beer money and feed their kids, just like they've been taught to do.

Inertia. It's not just an object at rest tends to stay at rest; it's
also an object in motion tends to stay in motion.
