It CAN be disabled, I did do so for newsgroups because a troll on one of my
groups was scripting in her msgs and sending us to her site for fun and games.
it's not easy to figure out though, I had to have a step by step with
screen shots to do it, because it's linked with your browser security and
you have to set outlook and your browser on different security ratings.  If
you don't, your surfing is messed up.
As it is, I cannot surf to scripted sites from the newsgroups, I have to
copy and paste the url via the browser or they won't open.  My newsreader
is set to not run scripts.
I use Eudora for mail.  I like it, it's nice, it's easy, and it doesn't
open attachments by itself, not even pictures.
