Yes, of course, I was being hasty, what you actually get is your desktop
bitmap and no command interface except ctrl+alt+delete to shutdown and
restart.  It's been a long and crappy day.
For those who don't know, I've gotten hired at a computer store to work in
the shop.  Well we must have something in the air because not a single
machine, new or old, goes together and installs smoothly.  Not one.  The
problems are always very random and puzzling too.  ~sigh~  nothing to make
a body feel more stupid than to have a few computers around!  Oh yeah, all
of them are one form or another of windows, OF COURSE!
