systray is that little area of your taskbar that keeps track of running
applications.  without it you cripple your windows.  Explorer is the GUI
shell you are using.  close it and you go back to DOS prompt.

The swap file is accessing your hard drive.  It writes the contents of RAM
to hard drive and monitors the pages stored on the drive at regular
intervals.  This is a normal part of windows and how it manages to store
more information than your RAM can hold at one time.
