No, not like that, not both effects in one software install.  One never got
X started, though it was valiantly trying, flashing it on as a black
screen, then back to CLI. The next started it and warped it into tiling
effect in a tornado  Quite intolerable, though i've seen that come from
pushing a vga screen into an svga setting.

I have indeed tried the most generic, with terrible results. I really don't
have faith that this problem can be solved and wish to move beyond it now.
