As Bob George points out, nedit is an X-Window
GUI product. Unfortunately, that won't get it for
things like telnet access (remote admin) or basic
system (pre-GUI) setup & configuration, and its
portability is somewhat limited.
However the reviews (from some respected sources)
say it's very good -- usable "out of the box."
When I get into the X-World again I'll have to
try it out.
