Yeah but that assumes one has nedit on the remote machine,
not to mention the requisite Motif libs.
If the remote machine is some basic system with no X libs
then one has to use whatever basic editor it might have.
More than likely that's vi (or clone), pico, or emacs (the horror <grin>).
So it still behooves one to at least be familiar with vi, IMNSHO.
