Well, for you I would suggest win95 or win98 lite if you wish to use M$
software at all. You could choose a variety, including BeOS, macintosh,
and Linux to name the more popular. The latter is well documented and free.

I have had a dialup connection and had to set the settings to not dialup or
go on the web too. I did not find this difficult as going through options
is one of the first things I do to learn to use an App.

I do not believe you are correct nor that I am so gullible. I really do
integrate my internet use with my local use and cannot imagine my computer
without that integrated cyberspace. Most of what I do on it integrates
cyberspace in some way.

I use it because it is the only newsreader that allows me to input multiple
servers. I would prefer agent if they only brought that feature into it.

Don't forget that there are alternatives and likely always will be because
there are people such as you who desire them, and people like me will
gladly help archive them for you, whether we actually use them or not,
simply because different is good.
I propose a world where people co-operatively work on software like the
linux scene and their variety of tastes causes a continued variety of
choices, but where there is some form of guidance and standard as there is
within the M$ sphere of software domination unlike the linux form where a
novice is lost in a confusing swirl of possibilities with very little clear
instruction geared to such a novice.
