i dont doubt all the info is out there. but one of the
reasons, of thousands, that I dont do windoz, is the lack
of decent documentation. I have no idea what windoz does
most of the time, and the fact that its users dont either
has resulted in lotos of sabotage software.

Nor do I have a messianic attitude for dos, or any os. of
those which I know, nix seems to be the wave of the future.
I could rag on dos too, but nobody cares about it anymore,
and the rate of developmental improvement is trivial.

But the faster that linux goes after the documentation
problem the faster it will replace windoz, and we will all
benefit from that.

Saying the info is available on the net dont quite cut it.
there are times when I need info that I aint on the net.
and times when people cant get on the net. One of the most
ironic experiences I had was with a Redhat distro, where
it never occured to the install script writers, that their
CD rom might not read correctly. and when it found a corrupted
RPM, it crashed, and wiped out two hours worth of work.

By continually eliminating RPMs from the install, after many
attempts, I was able to get it up, and the first thing it did
was tell me to register on line.... only the PPPD driver was
one of the corrupted RPMs. :-}

I was so appalled at programming that lacked appropriate
error handling that I ordered Mandrake.
