I have seen adaptors that would plug into a 30-pin slot and accept four 30-pin SIMMs. I would normally tend to recommend against them because of problems fitting into the volume available, and the complication of the extra connections - which present more potential sites for failure. In this case, if you can find some, that are significantly cheaper than 4 MB SIMMs, they may be worth a try.
