I wrote a blog post that mentions a microformats-in-SVG approach toward Semantic Web and accessibility. You might find it interesting. http://www.schepers.cc/?p=11 There are a variety of ways that microformats could be leveraged in an authoring tool or a viewer, but there is no additional need for anything from the SVG specification itself (which is, of course, exactly why microformats was designed the way it was... it just works as long as there is a "class" attribute).
