The last several years that I can recall, none at all. For example, when Al Johnson brought his new Perseus in to play with (I think that was in '08), someone had strung a short antenna with a MLB at the end of it (I don't remember the model number, but I know Universal carries it...) inside the building. That's hardly an effective antenna. One or two other folks had the E1 and were sharing it between that little antenna and just using the whip. How can one have a 'Listening Lounge' without some sort of antenna, regardless of how simple it might be? I know the hotel charges an arm and a leg for folks to poke holes in the screens, but that can't be very popular with the staff, even if they understand why they do it.
It's too late to think of this now, I'm sure, but certainly something that probably should be considered in the future. 73 Mike links editor,Utility Monitoring Central HF Forum moderator, Radioreference.Com --- [email protected] wrote: From: David Goren <[email protected]> To: Discussion list for the Winter SWL Fest <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [Swlfest] It may be a bit too late to think about, but...
