OK..... found the command in the finder.... erased it to Mac OS

please insert a High Density floppy. I put it in, it seems to be
being to start then it says "The Disk Floppy did not complete (-17)"

I don't recall running across that error myself before... But according to the official list of error codes [1] error -17 means "Driver can't respond to Control call." I'm not sure how exactly to interpret that, but one possibility is that Disk Copy tries to do things with the floppy disk that your USB floppy drive doesn't know how to do. In that case, you'll have to try again on a Mac with a built-in Apple / Sony floppy drive. Although I wouldn't expect it to produce this error code, another possibility might be that the floppy disk has bad blocks. I wouldn't necessarily think this is the case, but since you said before you don't know anybody with a Mac with a built-in Apple floppy drive, trying a couple different floppy disks might be easier for you.
