I know that Appletalk is pretty much dead in Tiger, but I was not aware that compatibility was killed off in 10.3.9. But then, 10.3.9 is one of the absolute most buggy releases of 10.3, so I am not surprised. If you are going to stick with 10.3, I strong suggest 10.3.6. I tried 10.3.7 thru 10.3.9, and 10.3.6 is the best. I'm now running 10.4.3 and like it, but some people report problems. Nevertheless, you won't solve your Appletalk problems by moving to Tiger.
