As of this time, I am not a contract customer of T-Mobile.

Last March, I ported my number out of T-Mobile when the announcement was
made. At the time, I had been a postpaid customer of T-Mobile, but
off-contract for six years. When I first obtained service with them, I
had a one-year contract. I really loved the service and had full bars
literally everywhere with them, but I had a bad experience with AT&T
when it was known as Cingular and I will not go back to them. Maybe I
acted too hastily when leaving...

I am not on a contract either with my current company and can port the
number out again at any time.

Comcast, TimeWarner and other cable companies (collectively,
SpectrumCo), recently reached an agreement to sell their unused spectrum
holdings to Verizon Wireless, this deal is now being challenged by
T-Mobile and metroPCS, at least those two are on-record as opposing it.
The FCC is also looking at it as well.

Dish Network also has unused spectrum and its CEO recently indicated
that if the AT&T deal fell apart, which it did, he would be interested
in talking to T-Mobile about a spectrum deal.

(Late this afternoon, it was announced that Sprint's board of directors
voted "no" on an $8 billion acquisition of metroPCS. It wasn't said why
they voted against it. But Sprint's stock market value alone, is less
than $8 billion...)

I'm not sure if the likes of Google, etc. want to get into any type of
service business. Google is already into wireless with the Android
system, as is Apple with the iPhone.

If T-Mobile can pull this off, become self-sufficient without any
financial help from DT, that would be great. But I remain hopeful that
DT will keep T-Mobile and not try to sell it again.

is a transcript of the conference call. Rene Obermann stated not to
expect a near-term structural solution, nor anything like the AT&T deal.
