Fortunately T-mobile makes these available for free for eligible customers other than locking in a line for another two years (we have a five line family plan and I understand the lock doesn't prevent that line from being eligible for a handset upgrade. Anyway, I figure I will know after a week of using it and can always return it. But as I said, I only had to pay the $6 or so for shipping.
