Well again, any such sale would take a bit of time to complete and so everyone should have plenty of advanced notice. If you are looking to get out of a T-Mobile contract now, your contract will expire before anything happens with any such sale. And if you are satisfied now but concerned who they might be sold to, then simply do not renew your contract and then you can cancel at any time after it expires. > Aside from Vodafone (which is already in the U.S. through its 45% > ownership of Verizon Wireless), I cannot think of any other wireless > company globally that would be large enough to acquire T-Mobile USA as a > whole. It could be that it wouldn't be a wireless company but instead a company looking to expand into wireless. Cable companies (Comcast), DirectTV, and other "media" providers might want to compete better with Verizon by also being able to offer wireless along with their TV, internet and house phone options like Verizon. Or it might be something like Google, Yahoo, or some other internet company looking to expand. After all, what better way to expand your internet presence then by also running a wireless system filled with even more internet ready devices. Heck, even Apple could decide to become a wireless provider. When you look outside the traditional wireless carriers, there are a lot of potential companies out of there with very deep pockets.
