Sponsored by TWIST - Tablet Weavers International Studies & Techniques Greetings all:
Oh, all right, I'll stop lurking too. And I'll even ask a question! The question is about finishing a piece. I wanted to make a simple belt for my wife to use at SCA events, and have a long fringe at each end. But I'm using thicker yarn - basic knitting yarn, I suspect; it was a donation to the weaver at work who couldn't use the whole donation. But I digress. I simply need to know how to finish the woven part to make it look nice, please? My guess is to use square knots, but my imagination says that will look kinda large, clunky and silly. So I throw it out to all of you. And an anecdote from work: my supervisor's son needed to do some sort of craft for school, so she took him to the basement, helped him warp some cards, and got him tablet weaving, having tied the warp to a telepost. When his friend telephoned to ask what was up, he replied that he was tied to a post in the basement. And that's all from me for today. Thanks for any help!
