One of the ladies I know wove TW ties for her dress. The ties were
somewhere around 6 cards wide (maybe 4) and she had finished them off with
aglettes (I think that's how its spelled)

Kes, the lady who runs the Fettered Cock, makes her belt ends out of pewter,
and is usually willing to make up special orders. I've got a lovely wolf
bookmark that I think was originally designed for a garter, which is about
the right size for many of my bands.
My brother has also made similar buckles etc.
(and if you need yet another hobby, pewter casting isn't all that difficult,
and the materials are fairly inexpensive)

You may also consider looking through your local thrift shop - shoe buckles,
straps on old clothes etc. - you never know what you may find.

In Toronto there is a store that sells leather and hardware called Capital
Findings - I've also purchased buckles from them.

always willing to suggest Canadian stores to people who live waaaay out of
town. On the other hand, wait a year until the ROM (royal ontario
museum)finishes its renovations, in particular a floor dedicated to
textiles, and it may be worth the trip. (and maybe someone else can
convince the curators the difference between tablet woven bands and inkle
woven bands)
