I'm doing a project for a television show.

I will have to perform each significant step for the
camera, as well as having "step-ups" completed so that
I can pull out the next one and pretend that I've been
busily working for three or four hours in the space of
a camera blink.

My question - I'm trying to work out how to pattern
the borders. I know that I want a warp-twined border
for strength and stability, but I also know that I
want the warping to be as simple and quick as possible
- they want to see me warp the loom. I'm trying to
decide whether to do just a solid blue border, or
maybe two stripes of gold with gold-blue checks
between. Solid blue would of course be faster. I
think the blue and gold would give it a more finished
look.

This is the design:

the red lines are just lettering guidelines, and will
have marked tablets to represent where they are, so I
can see where the letters begin and end. There won't
be red thread in the piece.

The moth and the moon are brocaded in hand-reeled
silk; the lettering is double-faced. The base of the
ribbon is 2/30's spun silk.

So - what do you think?
