Brenda,

Be it that the About window says you're running 9.1 and the update site says you're not I would say something got corrupted in your installation. Also, I believe the TB Enhance app is installed by default. So if you don't have it and didn't uninstall it, again, it sounds like something went wrong.

And unless you have a previous Window-Eyes installation CD and the required update files I'm not aware of any way to get older versions.

I would recommend a clean install. If you have the retail version and not the required updates you'll have to contact GW on Monday to explain your situation. They'll probably generate a downloadable full installation of 9.1 for you. And if you're running the Office version you can simply download it and try a clean install after uninstalling your current installation.

But again, if you have a retail version, or have purchased a support option with an Office version, I would call GW and see if they can figure it out for you and get things right because it's obvious that something is seriously messed up.

Perhaps you and Larry could have a conference call with AI support and get both your worlds back into the round. I know ... bad joke. But I can't think of anything else at the moment.

Then again, perhaps I can. If you use Windows restore or another backup program you could try restoring back to a couple days ago, prior to installing 9.0. Just don't forget to backup anything created since that time that you want to save.

Good luck,
Tom

Well, I don't have the TB enhanced app installed.

It is NOT AVG because I turned off vires check for incoming emails and
outgoing was already turned off.
I changed my setting to plain text for emails.
When I check the W-e control panel, it says I have 9.1.0 but when I go
to the website it says I have 9.0 installed. I reinstalled 9.1.0 from
the website with no suc cess.

Is there a way to get back to W-e 8.4?? I did not save the 8.4 upgrade
before installing.

I have no idea why you guys are having such problems with Thunderbird.
Therefore my only guess is the Thunderbird Enhanced app, which I do
not use. So I'd try disabling that app to see if things calm down. I
don't have any problems with Thunderbird and just updated to the
latest version a day or two ago.

Brenda, I regretfully can't offer you any solution to your issue,
because I'm having exactly the same problem when deleting messages from
my inbox. It doesn't happen every time, only intermittenly. I was just
hoping that someone can kill two peoples problems with one solution, if
at all possible.

good morning
Thank you Tom and Larry for the info on copying and pasting a link for
converting youtube to mp3. I will follow your instructions and check
out songr (?) once I can read your emails without Thunderbird freezing.

I can open and start to read an email, but when i tap the arrow or
other key to silence speech and arrow around, thunderbird freezes,
Window Eyes quits speaking and alt-tab doesn't work. When I am finally
able to ALT-F4 to close T-bird things work again, BUT when I re-open
T-Bird I have to use the numpad mouse to get to my inbox and then I
have to ALT F8 to get rid of the reading pain.

fortunately, I am able to type this email with T-bird and I can read
emails on my iPhone, but I would really like to get this issue fixed.
win 7-64, W-E 9.1 latest Thunderbird, AVG security
(malware bytes and spybot are run manually)

Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this would be greatly
appreciatexd.

thanks
brenda
