You don’t even have to uninstall Window-Eyes. It will happily co-exist with Jaws. Just decide which one you want to autostart and bring up the other whenever you want it. Don’t know how long app central and the other Web services will be around, but, if Window-Eyes does what you want for the present, you will not be compelled to just stop using it.
I, myself, will try to get my funds together to upgrade, but, I do not feel an urgency to start using Jaws right away.
