I know many people including me, who have a desktop and still use the laptop layout for JAWS, because you gain a lot of extra commands that are easier to perform than always using the numpad, plus, you gain the caps lock. For example, try this command using the numpad LOL! To look up a word your cursor is sitting on and get its definition using research it, press Insert+Windows+R. The definition will come up immediately. Now, Try using Caps lock+Windows+R and see how much easier that is to do LOL! David Moore Sent from Mail for Windows 10

I'd only need to use the CapsLock as a modified Insert key if my laptop DOES NOT have regular computer keyboard. In essence, whether on a laptop, or on a desktop computer, I always use the default desktop keyboard setting.
