Perhaps "sucks" was a bit strong, Greg :-)

Except for the two space thing, it is pretty good.  But
without the ability to reformat, it is seriously flawed.

Even if it had that ability, it is nice to be able to use a
real editor for more complicated tasks.  That's why a simple
interface to one's editor of choice is such an important
feature.

I get around this problem with just a few keystrokes and one
mouse click:

   Ctrl-ac      copies the text to the clipboard
   Click on a Win quick launch icon to open my
        editor with the clipboard pasted in.

   Perform my editing, copy everything back to
        the clipboard and quit my edit.  That's
        performed in my editor (Gvim) with:
             ggyG:q!
        
   Ctrl-v       replaces with edited text

Although this is quite a simple alternative, I would still
like the external editing call that was part of PMmail.
