Not only, but also ... on this mailing list we are self confessed
Emailoholics. That speaks volumes for the sheer volume of mail that we
deal with.
I don't know about you, but when I want to download something from the
web, I look for an FTP source for the file to save bandwidth rather
than go with the easy and "Frilly" default of clicking on the link and
letting the browser drag it ploddingly down for you.
FTP is a "better" (more efficient, cleaner, faster, more reliable)
method for performing a download than HTML is.
Plain text is, IMHO, a "better" (more efficient, cleaner, faster, more
reliable) method for use in email than HTML is.
HTML is a "better" method for viewing presentation information like
web pages and documentation.
When these things start to cross over, fundamentals get broke. That's
what I sincerely believe.
